Rex retired from the Philadelphia ship yard on August 31, 1995.  He had served 25 years and said he knew it was time to go. He settled in a small town in Bucks County Pa. where he worked for a company that built flight simulators.  This job took him all over the world.  In 2002 the company folded and Rex was looking for a new career.  He went back to school and earned a master degree in Business Administration and Computer Programming.  During that time he pursed his love of genealogy. He was also a Ham Radio Operator and had fun county hunting.  He was enlisted by the Red Cross to work in shelters during Super Storm Sandy and Hurricane Irma as the communication officer. In 2004 - 2012 he was a systems engineer for Lockheed Martin. We got married in 2011 and after his retirement he sold the home in Telford and moved to Orefield, PA. It was there that he became a skilled craftsman.  He would seek out old carpentry tools and restore them.  His woodworking skills delighted many people but his greatest joy was making children’s wooden toys. In 2015 we retired in Lakeland, Fl. In July he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer that had metastasized on the brain. He passed away peacefully before he could get treatment. On September 1st he was interred at Bushnell National Cemetery. If you have any stories that you would like to share with Mrs. Mott, please email her at: mtmott51@gmail.com
